Make sure to stop at the Visitor Center and speak with our dedicated staff about what’s happening while you’re in town. The Visitor Center is a great resource for information about Wausau/Central Wisconsin, Marathon County, and the State of Wisconsin. Located two miles east of exit 192 off Hwy 51 at 219 Jefferson Street in downtown Wausau, the Visitor Center is open seven days a week from 9am – 5pm, closed on major holidays. What we do...
Our central location has made Wausau/Central Wisconsin a favorite destination for meeting and conference planners. Our staff can help you plan a business meeting for 10 or a conference for 1,000. We’re fortunate to have a great selection of meeting facilities that can handle trade shows, seminars, demonstrations, special events, and more. We’re an excellent resource for all the information you need to hold a successful event in the Wausau area.

If you are traveling with a group, let us help! Tour a ginseng farm, meet rescued birds of prey, make cheese, or get a behind-the-scenes look at a museum. With one phone call to the Convention & Visitors Bureau, we can create an itinerary unique to your group’s interests. Whether you’re bringing 15 people or a bus of 55, we’ll recommend lodging, restaurants, and attractions to make the trip fun and affordable.

Strong local sports organizations and some of the finest sports facilities in the state keep the competitive spirit thriving in Wausau/Central Wisconsin. The Wausau area has been the host destination for events and competitions of all sizes and we are here to help with the bid process, site tours, and questions through the conclusion of the event. Richard Barrett

As Executive Director of the CVB, Richard is responsible for the direction and oversight of the CVB and all staff activities. Richard works with the Board of Directors to represent seven communities as one destination. Richard also manages the Sports Authority, which is a function of the CVB.

Rebecca Bratton
Marketing Coordinator/Graphic Designer

Rebecca creates and maintains all marketing material to help promote the Wausau/Central Wisconsin area. Rebecca also works with and provides support for the CVB's Sports Authority program. She also helps promote events and activities and attract new businesses and organizations to the area.

Scott Liegl

Scott is responsible for promoting the Wausau area as a destination for larger sporting events through the CVB's Sports Authority program. Scott works closely with athletic directors, sports commissioners and promoters to attract new sporting events to the Wausau area. Scott is also jointly responsible for the Wausau Marathon running series of race events.

Jodi manages the CVB's Visitor Center and all visitor inquiries. If you stop in or call the Visitor Center with a question about the Wausau area, chances are you will talk to Jodi! Other responsibilities include coordinating our Brochure Distribution Program, handling our Visitors Magazine requests and fulfilling welcome bags for meetings and conferences.
