Turkey Vulture to Homestead Loop

Discover this 2.5-mile loop trail near Wausau, Wisconsin. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 12 min to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are May through October. This enjoyable trail in Rib Mountain State Park features gorgeous views and a little bit of history.

The hike begins at the end of Grouse Lane and heads steadily uphill towards Rib Mountain Quarry. There are some rocky sections along the way, so come prepared with proper hiking shoes. The trail can also get icy in winter and muddy when wet. Please be sure to bring bug spray if you're visiting in the warmer months
