Head out on this 4.4-mile loop trail near Wausau, Wisconsin. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 8 min to complete. The Yellow Trail is a fantastic hike in Rib Mountain State Park. It heads down the southern slope of Rib Mountain and passes through a gorgeous tall maple forest. The trail markings at the top of Rib Mountain around the concession stand can be confusing. Look at the available maps to get your bearings. The climb back to the trailhead is a fantastic workout that will raise your heart rate. This wide-shaded path is a terrific snowshoeing adventure in winter.
