BSG ALPINE RACE UPDATE
2021
The Event Directors of the Badger State Games Alpine Event received many positive comments on the run order change we made in 2019. Given that, we will keep the same run order. 85 and older - 50-54 age groups, 3-15 age groups and finally the 49-16 age groups. This will assure that we can keep all of our Athletes safe and competitive. Due to Covid19 there will be Safer Practices put in place. Bibs will be available for pickup at the BSG tent in the Northwest corner of the Granite Peak Ski Area Parking lot (look for the signs) Friday night 5:00pm – 7:00pm, Saturday morning 7:45am -8:30am. No bibs will be available in either of the Chalets. There will only be 2 racers allowed in the start tunnel at a time, one at the start wand and one inside the staging area. No parents or coaches will be allowed in the tunnel during the race. Only the timers and announcer will be allowed in the finish building. It will not be available as a Warming House. Race results can be viewed on the NASTAR LIVE TIMING Website. Age group results will be posted at the BIB pickup tent in the parking lot. There will NOT be an awards Ceremony. All Awards can be picked up at the BIB pickup tent or the Central Wisconsin Visitors Bureau. If requested the CWVB will mail Awards. Thank you to all the Athletes that choose to participate in the 2021 Alpine event. It is very different due to the Pandemic but at least we are able to still provide a race experience.
Thanks Everyone.

Spectator Information:
For those that want to cheer on our athletes and to see them bring home the gold here are a few tips:
Best place to view the event & how much you can see: Spectators at the finish line will be able to see 80 % of the race, from the start line 20%
Seating Available or bring your own chairs: Bring your own chairs
Admission Fee: No
Concessions: Concessions available in the Lodge
Merchandise:
Signs or Noise makers: YES! Cow bells are highly encouraged :)
Other information: It is about a 250 yard hike up a 10 degree grade to the Start or Finish. To see the start spectators need to park at the Visitor Center parking lot at the entrance to the park and walk up to the upper Ski Patrol Building. The start is adjacent to the Ski Patrol building. This requires having a Wisconsin State Park Sticker. To get to the Finish from the Historic Chalet, proceed up lower Hot Cocoa to where Spruce Glen intersects and you will see the finish to your right. (Across, to the right, and up the hill a bit from the top of Blizzard surface lift). No one can ride the lift without skis on.
