BSG ALPINE RACE UPDATE
The Event Directors of the Badger State Games have been asked to look at how the run order has been run for the last 31 years for the Alpine Race Events. We are excited to make a few minor changes to help keep the event safer and more competitive for all of our age groups. This change will assure that we can keep our participants safe in the event of inclement weather, and keep the race courses safe for our Adult age groups. As a parent, I know that making my young racer stand in a line waiting to take a 40 second run for 40 minutes can be frustrating. The new run orders will allow our VERY energetic young racers to take free runs to stay warmed up OR go in the Chalet for Hot Chocolate. For our Adult Die-Hard racers, this will give them the BEST race course conditions. This will save them from beating up their bodies with courses that are all torn up. Our Master Timer, Steve Heller is pretty sure he can make this happen with the help of everyone registering as soon as possible. Let’s make this the best Alpine Race event ever. Also a discounted $64 race pass ticket is offered so make sure to ask or select the special race day ticket.
Registration is open until 1/09/2020
No On-Site registration will be allowed
Giant Slalom: $25
Both Events: $45
Just a reminder that Masters is for racers that have participated in organized racing programs or events and Citizen is for first time racers or very inexperienced racers.

Printable Registration Form and Athlete Waiver
**Purchase of a lift ticket is REQUIRED in addition to the registration fee. The best pricing for lift tickets is available online at www.skigranitepeak.com

For those that want to cheer on our athletes and to see them bring home the gold here are a few tips:
Best place to view the event & how much you can see: Spectators at the finish line will be able to see 80 % of the race, from the start line 20%
Seating Available or bring your own chairs: Bring your own chairs
Admission Fee: No
Concessions: Concessions available in the Lodge
Signs or Noise makers: YES! Cow bells are highly encouraged :)
Other information: It is about a 250 yard hike up a 10 degree grade to the Start or Finish. To see the start spectators need to park at the Visitor Center parking lot at the entrance to the park and walk up to the upper Ski Patrol Building. The start is adjacent to the Ski Patrol building. This requires having a Wisconsin State Park Sticker. To get to the Finish from the Historic Chalet, proceed up lower Hot Cocoa to where Spruce Glen intersects and you will see the finish to your right. (Across, to the right, and up the hill a bit from the top of Blizzard surface lift). No one can ride the lift without skis on.
