After 25 years, the Iola Vintage Military & Gun Show, founded under the influence of Chet Kruse of Iola, is relocating to new event grounds in Marathon County under a new name. Now named the Central Wisconsin Military Show, this event will take place on the newly-developed event grounds alongside Wisconsin’s Largest Auto Museum “Motorama”, just off Hwy 52 in Marathon County’s North East Corner. Mark your calendars ­– you won’t want to miss this annual event scheduled for August 10-11, 2018.

The Iola Military Show has grown to “The Midwest’s Premiere and Largest Military Vehicle Show and Swap Meet” and the event organizers are dedicated to continually improving the experience for all who attend.

General Rules: 

  • Any damage to be reported to staff immediately.
  • No food, beverage or smoking inside any museum building.
  • Participants may have pets in their site only if leashed or caged.
  • No vendor may move in or move out during public show hours.
  • Official and emergency vehicles are the only vehicles allowed to move during public show hours.

Military Vehicle Show: 

  • No fee. Registration includes two arm bands and vehicle/s pass(es).
  • Military Vehicles of any year, country and manufacturer are included.
  • Vehicles not in military colors will be displayed in a separate area and not judged.
  • The show area includes adjacent campsites.
  • Selling items in the show area is permitted with payment of swap meet fee.
  • Show area includes space for Military Vehicle Club display.

 Re-enactor encampment:

  • No fee. Registration includes two arm bands and a vehicle pass.
  • Encampment only, no battle this year.
  • Awards presented on various criteria.
  • Structures, e.g. foxholes, blinds, etc., allowed upon prior approval.

Pin-Up Girl contestant:

  • No fee. Registration includes 2 arm bands. Judging by public applause.
  • 1st place - $100;  2nd place - $50;  3rd place - $25
    (No Nudity, tasteful dress appreciated)

Swap Meet:

  • Fee is $50 per space, includes two arm bands and a vehicle pass.
  • This is a Militaria swap meet. Sales must be of military related items.
  • Antique and military firearms are allowed, triggers must be locked, hammers tied down, regardless of completeness.
  • No ammunition allowed on the premises, including cartridges, shells, casings, powder, shot, balls, reloading supplies, or anything capable of exploding.
  • No motor homes, campers, empty trailers are allowed in the swap area on Saturday during public show hours.
  • Removal of purchased items by vehicle during show hours must be authorized by show staff.
  • Vendors are responsible for swap space clean up.
  • 2017 space restriction: due to time constraints, the new swap meet expansion area will not be available until next year's show. Swap spaces are restricted to a maximum of two per registration. Past vendors having more than two, call 715-449-2141 so we can accommodate your space needs.
  • First come, first served. As this is a new venue and the swap meet area will be changing for next year, the registration confirmation reserves spaces. Upon arrival, vendor may choose from available spaces. No particular space reserved.

Participant Camping:

  • All sites are $35 each. Paid registration includes 2 arm bands and vehicle pass. Sites assigned upon arrival.
  • If conditions permit, campfires in rings only. No motor home sanitary dumping station on site. Campers responsible for site clean up.
