WAUSAU, WI (Dec 19, 2019) –The Badger State Games’ Winter Games are kicking off the 31st year Winter Games by sponsoring the 2019 U.S. Ski & Snowboard USSA Opening Giant Slalom Series of Races on December 21-22, 2019 at Granite Peak Ski Area. Approximately 300 racers are expected to compete in this two-day event, including the top Jr. Male and Female Alpine Ski Racers in the Midwest. For the men, Brad Seaborg from Marquette, MI and Samuel Spencer from Pewaukee, WI. For the women, Riley Whitney (originally from Madison, WI) and Emma Finfer from Highland Park, IL.
Racing on Saturday and Sunday begins at 9:45 am and spectators are welcome. With the beautiful weather forecast, anticipated attendance is around 1,000.
Award ceremonies will take place on Sunday at 11:30 am and 3:30 pm in the Sundance Chalet.
