We are a recreational road bike club, offering a variety of organized group rides each Tuesday and Thursday evening, generally from May until October, weather permitting. There are four group rides for a wide variety of skill levels from beginners to competitive riders, including a family-friendly Thursday evening ride. Tuesday night rides leave from the Weston YMCA. The RED Group leaves at 5:45pm, while the other groups depart at 6pm. Early spring rides begin at the lower end of the pace/distance and progress throughout the summer. Helmets are required for all riders. RED Group – Sport cycling group: Average pace: brisk, competitive pace. Approximate distance: Early in spring, distances will start around 35 miles and increase to 50 as daylight allows. YELLOW Group - Moderate cycling group: Average pace: near 19 mph. Approximate distance: 30 to 40 miles. GREEN Group – Social cycling group: Average pace: 16 to 17 mph. Approximate distance: 25 to 35 miles. The YELLOW and GREEN groups host special event nights with wine and cheese, pie and chocolate. The goal this group is to have fun and get exercise at the same time. Thursday night leisure rides are for entry level bikers, families with children, or anyone who wants to just enjoy a leisurely ride on a bike. Average pace: 10 mph. Approximate distance: 10 to 15 miles.
