Wausau and Central Wisconsin has a variety of theater and performing arts to entertain audiences both young and old.

The Grand, the area’s performing arts center, features a season full of wonderful entertainment. The Grand Theater brings an incredible variety of performances to the stage, including Broadway shows, music, comedy, dance and family programs.

Wausau Dance Theatre creates productions that fascinate audiences both young and old. Their highly acclaimed Storybook Weekend series of performances including this year’s performance Carnival of the Animals, continue to entertain all ages. Central Wisconsin School of Ballet is the official school of Wausau Dance Theatre. The school has been reviewed by many publications, most notably Newsweek Magazine, which called their production of The Nutcracker “...one of the nation’s nine most notable Nutcrackers...”

Allegro Regional Dance Theater is dedicated to exciting audiences of all ages with the wonders of dance, music and storytelling. Allegro has pioneered a close collaboration with the Wausau Symphony Orchestra and their unique bedtime story concept has now become an annual tradition.

Wausau Community Theatre has a passion for bringing the Wausau area season after season of wonderful theatrical entertainment. From the indoor stage to the outdoor arena, WCT performs a variety of shows thanks to the many talented volunteers from the area. WCT features several productions, including big hit plays, musicals and dinner theater performances.

Central Wisconsin Children’s Theatre brings monthly events to children of all ages with mainstage productions, fun-filled drama camps and educational workshops. Collaborative performances and field trips are  also planned to create opportunities for young people to explore the world of artistic expression.

Wausau Concert Band offers a great way to spend part of a summer by attending an outdoor performance. Every Thursday at 7pm in June, July and August the band plays at an area park. Pack a picnic, bring a lawn chair or blanket and relax as you listen to music in a beautiful setting. Locations for outdoor concerts include Marathon Park, The 400 Block and Rothschild Pavilion.

Wausau Conservatory of Music enriches the lives of everyone who lives in or visits North Central Wisconsin with quality musical instruction, performance and opportunities to support and participate in music.

Wausau Lyric Choir is a local ecumenical community choir of adults dedicated to the performance of sacred choral music. The choir offers several performances during the year, each of high artistic merit that exemplify the values expressed in the music.
