Nine Mile County Forest Recreation Area
Nine Mile County Forest Recreation Area is open for mountain biking from May 1st through October 15th. The cross-country ski and snowmobile trails are marked and mowed during the summer months to provide over 20 miles of varying terrain. Nine Mile has a trail system that includes open tracks with minimal to moderate grades, as well as 10 miles of single-track routes through heavily forested areas. These trails offer a challenge for all ages and abilities. Trail fees are required for biking at Nine Mile. Mountain-Bay State Trail
Created from a former railroad corridor that stretches from Weston to Green Bay, the Mountain-Bay State Trail is an 83-mile scenic trail. The Marathon County portion contains 18 miles for hiking and biking in the summer. The trailhead is located behind the Weston Municipal Center at 5500 Schofield Avenue. Parking and restroom facilities are available. Daily or season passes are required for trail use for bicycles. More information is available at the Mountain-Bay State Trail website.
Big Eau Pleine County Park
Offering over 10 miles of trails shared with hikers and horse riding enthusiasts, the Big Eau Pleine County Park is a great biking spot with views of the Big Eau Pleine Flowage. No trail fees are necessary. For additional information visit the Marathon County website.
